There is no gainsaying that the crux of what has become known today as the Anglophone crisis was hatched by the fact that Cameroonians of the English expression, former southern Cameroonian and a colony that was under the British mandate felt that the dorminant French speakers wanted to « Assimilate » Anglophones.
Contrary to the fact that English and French are supposed to be the two official languages in Cameroon, that is not the case because French is given more importance than the English language.
